Part 2 will showcase Ota-ku of Tokyo. This area boasts great access to Haneda Airport, so you can easily drop by just after arriving or just before leaving Japan.

The area surrounding Ikegami Honmon-ji Temple

Keikyu Kamata Station is only a 10-min train ride on the Keikyu Airport Line from Haneda Airport. Walk 15 mins to Kamata Station and head to Ikegami Station on the Tokyu Ikegami Line. You're almost there! Ikegami Honmon-ji Temple is only a 10-minute walk from the station.

【Ikegami Baien Plum Tree Garden】
A large park with around 370 red and white plum trees. The trees give off a pleasant fragrance and come into full bloom every year around mid-February. The views of blossoming trees against tea houses and ponds make for a truly beautiful landscape.

Special feature: 3 stores that offer famous ‘kuzumochi’ confections

Kuzumochi are delicately sweet ‘wagashi’ treats made by fermenting flour for over a year, and have been enjoyed since the Edo period. Served in combination with kinako (soy bean powder) and brown sugar syrup.

Ota City Tourist Information Center

A facility with multilingual support that introduces local attractions, offers a number of cultural experiences and workshops, and also sells local handicrafts and confections.

You'll also be excited to learn that the Ota City Tourist Information Center offers a number of uniquely Japanese cultural workshops, such as tea ceremony, flower arranging, kimono wearing, calligraphy, and manga.
