Located throughout Japan, Mitsui Garden Hotels are comfortable, lovely places to stay. Today we look at Mitsui Garden Hotel Ueno.

The stations nearest the hotel are JR Ueno Station (a 2-minute walk from the Asakusa exit), Ueno Station on the Tokyo Metro's Ginza or Hibiya lines (a 1-minute walk from exit #1), and Keisei Ueno Station (a 6-minute walk). The hotel is very conveniently located for Tokyo sightseers, especially those interested in the Ueno and Asakusa areas. Visitors might, for example, take the Ginza Line from Ueno station to get to Tokyo Skytree in approx. 15 minutes (Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line --> transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line and disembark at Oshiage Station) or Senso-ji Temple in approx. 6 minutes (disembark at Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line). If heading out on foot, it's only a 10-minute walk to Ueno Park and Ameya-Yokocho, a shopping district with some 400 stores. Those going to Narita Airport will find it most convenient to take a direct train to Keisei Ueno Station.

Guest rooms are a spacious 18 to 25 m², with special rooms in the form of Panda Rooms (twin or double bed) in a nod to nearby Ueno Zoo, and Sakura Panda Rooms (twin or double bed), named after the official mascot of Daimaru Matsuzakaya department stores.

Popular Italian restaurant BOSCO-iL-CHIANTI is a good place for a bite to eat. The breakfast menu features a fine assortment of foods grown in Tokyo, including fresh-vegetable salads. In addition to Western cuisine that includes the pasta of the day, the breakfast buffet is a popular choice with those looking for a rich assortment of healthy Japanese foods.

With its many galleries and museums, Ueno is also a city for arts and culture. Visitors will get an idea of what makes Ueno great through art made by three artists and graduates of the Tokyo University of the Arts that is on display in the lobby, elevator hallways, and elsewhere.

For those wanting the full Tokyo sightseeing experience, the Mitsui Garden Hotel Ueno would be the way to go.
