“Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten” is a well known Kyoto based tea company that has been in business for more than 450 years. Circle K Sunkus released 6 different kinds of sweets which were supervised and produced by “Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten”. To name a few, Matcha cream puff, Mathca Melonpan (melon shaped bread), and Matcha Montblanc. I was so curious about the Matcha Mont Blanc I had to try it. It was in a black cup which made the rich Matcha green colour pop.
I enjoyed just looking at the Matcha cream with sweet red beans… Now let’s begin!
The Matcha cream was sweet and bitter. It was even better when eaten with the smooth whipped cream below. The red beans weren’t too sweet either. Very nice.
Under the whipped cream layer was a Matcha mousse with a soft and moist sponge cake.
On the bottom layer was Matcha jelly! The jelly had a strong Matcha flavour. I enjoyed both the refreshing taste and the texture.
It was a Matcha festival in my mouth! The Matcha flavour was very strong in this dessert so if you love Matcha, this dessert is to die for!
