What I look forward during the cold winter is strawberry season! Yes, in Japan, strawberries are in season from January to May. I found a very tempting strawberry pie.
I needed to taste test this product.

It was in a paper package instead of the normal plastic packaging we usually see for this type of dessert.
Is it to keep the dessert crispy and prevent it from going soggy?

When I opened the package, out came the nice toasty smell of pie crust.
The surface was bumpy and golden brown. Icing sugar was sprinkled on top and the dessert looked very inviting.

The dessert was a little bigger than my palm. The pie crust was moister than I expected.
And very crumbly. Be careful when you eat it, it could be messy.

There were two kinds of cream inside the pie. One was strawberry whipped cream and the other was a sour jam sort of filling with actual stewed strawberries in it.
They enhanced each other. I also found bits of sponge cake in the whipped cream.

I might try toasting it lightly in the toaster oven next time.
