Woo-hoo! Anmitsu ingredients meet roll cake dough with Matcha flavour!

The roll cake was about 9cm in width with a thickness of 2.5cm.
It was a beautiful Matcha green.

First the Matcha dough was baked then Matcha custard was spread out evenly. Whipped cream, red bean paste from Hokkaido, strawberry jam, and orange pieces were added. Finally it was all rolled into a cake.

The Matcha sponge was so fluffy and soft. It wasn't bitter at all. It was mild and the Matcha aroma was lovely!
The Matcha custard and whipped cream were sweet and smooth. I loved the whipped cream!
The red bean paste went perfectly with the whipped cream. The strawberry jam wasn’t sour but fruity.
The sweet and sour orange was so juicy when I put in my mouth.

This was a perfect fusion roll cake of Wagashi (traditional Japanese style confectionery) and Yogashi (Western style confectionery)! It had many ingredients so depending on which part you bite into, you can enjoy different flavours.
I personally liked that this dessert wasn’t high in calories.
It’s sold at all Family Mart locations in Japan except for 4 prefectures. Hokkaido, Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Okinawa! Enjoy your tea time with this dessert!
