Spring Sakura Anmitsu comes in a 9.5 cm x 4.5cm cup.

As you can see, the colors were very vivid and different toppings such as sliced yellow peaches, kiwis, Sakura colored whipped cream and plain whipped cream were used. There were also Shiratama sticky rice balls and red bean paste made from Hokkaido red beans. It was so uplifting!

Sakura colored agar-agar jelly with Kuromitsu syrup came in separate container beneath the toppings. The idea is to add all the aforementioned toppings to the agar-agar jelly and finally pour the Kuromitsu syrup over everything.
But before I poured on the Kuromitsu syrup, I wanted to taste the agar-agar jelly. It had a nice unique texture with a hint of Sakura flavor. Spring is almost here! I love it.

Then I decorated the jelly with the toppings myself!
I poured on a generous amount of the Kuromitsu syrup. It was time to dig in!

Wow! It was so good! The juicy fruit combined perfectly with the rich bean paste and the chewy Shiratama sticky rice balls. When I ate the Sakura agar-agar jelly with the red bean paste and Shiratama, it tasted just like Sakura-mochi (a famous Japanese confectionery)! Even though it seems like a lot to eat, the base of this dessert is agar-agar jelly, so it’s not heavy at all. After eating this dessert I can’t wait for Spring weather to finally arrive! Spring Sakura Anmitsu is sold all over Japan except in Hokkaido, Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Okinawa!
