Everybody knows of the famous Uji Matcha from the Tsujiri ichi honten specialty Matcha shop in Kyoto.
Lawson has produced a dessert in which you can enjoy the rare combination of Anmitsu dessert with Matcha pudding.
I couldn’t wait to try it!!
As soon as I opened the lid I could smell the fresh fruit.
It was topped with a pink Shiratama sticky rice ball, diced yellow peaches, a sliced strawberry, and agar agar jelly.
Boiled and chilled red peas are must have item for Anmitsu dessert and they were not overlooked.
How uplifting to see all the vivid colors together in one cup!
The side view shows the 4 layers clearly. Starting from the top we have the agar agar jelly layer, the condensed milk pudding layer, the red bean paste layer, and finally on the bottom was the Uji matcha pudding layer.
The jelly layer was so smooth and thick, I loved it!
The red bean paste and condensed milk pudding were not overpowering.
The taste of Matcha pudding was bitter and elegant. I was not surprised the taste of the Matcha was rich because the finest quality Uji Matcha from Tsujiri ichi honten was used.
You won’t find this dessert boring. The flavors keep changing as you make your way to the bottom of the cup.
If you want to enjoy a light and refreshing dessert, this is for you!
