This is a Japanese style Parfait in which you can enjoy 2 kinds of tea flavours in one cup!
The beautiful layers and the generous toppings of the dessert called out to me from the display case.
The top layer was Matcha mousse, next was sponge cake, then whipped cream, and finally Matcha agar agar jelly.
The toppings were diced Hojicha jelly, diced matcha jelly, red bean paste, a Shiratama sticky rice ball, and Matcha whipped cream!!!! What an assortment!
The tea jelly was chewy like Mochi, you will definitely enjoy the unique astringent taste of tea as you chew on these jellies.
I thought they were only on top, but I was happy to find some inside as well!
The Matcha mousse was sweet and melted on my tongue, creating a lovely harmony with the sponge cake. The bottom layer of Matcha agar agar jelly was not too sweet, the high quality Matcha was so flavorful.
You will not regret experiencing so many different textures partying in one cup!
Enjoy the aroma and taste of Japanese tea in a Parfait!
