A Hokkaido Summer Festival Packed with Events! “Asahikawa Natsu Matsuri”
Hokkaido’s “Asahikawa Natsu Matsuri” is an annual festival that’s packed with plenty of events to enjoy. The festival takes place over the course of 3 days in Asahikawa.
The festival’s opening is marked by the “Doshin Noryo Fireworks Display,” during which around 4,500 fireworks are launched into Asahikawa’s summer night sky. Other fun events include dances, parades, and mikoshi (portable shrine) carrying!

Launch Date: August 1st, 2019, 7:45pm-8:45pm (or following day in case of rain)
Additionally, over 60 stalls are open at the “Taisetsu Sanroku Matsuri,” one of the venues of Asahikawa Natsu Matsuri, so be sure to stop by to enjoy some of Hokkaido’s delicious foods!
