Recommendation #1: Koishikawa-Korakuen

Best Time for Autumn Leaves: Mid-November through early December

Koishikawa-Korakuen is a garden that has been designated both as a national special historic site as well as a special scenic spot. The lakes, mountains, rivers, countrysides, and more that are replicated here are all beautifully laid out. During fall, the autumn leaves dye the area red, making it a great place to take pictures.

Recommendation #2: Mejiro Garden

Best Time for Autumn Leaves: Late November through early December

Mejiro Garden features a path that loops around a pond, and within the garden’s grounds you’ll find a sukiya-style building called “Sekicho-an” as well as “Rokkaku-Ukimido.” During fall, the autumn leaves and the surrounding scenery create a beautiful Japanese-style autumn landscape.
At night the garden is lit up, and the reflections of the autumn leaves onto the pond creates a beautiful and esoteric atmosphere.
