Adjacent to the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a World Heritage Site, this Japanese-style ryokan is located halfway up Mt. Wakakusa, known for its wild deer population. The hotel has received the 3 Red Pavilion rating in the Michelin Guide Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara 2012.

The hotel is favorably located in the highest place among accommodations in the whole Nara city area, and offers a panoramic view of the ancient city of Nara from the lobby and some of the guest rooms. In particular, the night view after sunset is breathtakingly beautiful, and the lobby, where a self-service bar is set up after 8:00 p.m., is a special place for night view viewing.

Various types of guest rooms are available, including those boasting a view, a vaulted ceiling, and those with an open-air bath. The special hot water in the two bathhouses in the building, which is said to have eight beneficial effects, will relieve the fatigue of travelers. The cuisine, including Yagyu nabe (hot pot), a mainstay since the establishment of the hotel, and other seasonal ingredients prepared with the skill of skilled craftsmen, are also part of the charm.

You can enjoy a relaxing and healing stay or use this as a base from which to explore the surrounding attractions. This ryokan is a great place to rediscover the charm of Nara, the ancient capital of Japan.
