Japan Mint Hiroshima Branch

A limited-time, valuable public opening where you can enjoy the proud collection of double-flowered cherry blossoms.

Last update :

The facility's cherry trees include about 60 varieties and approximately 210 trees, ranging from popular to rare species. While normally inaccessible to the public except for factory tours (which are suspended around the viewing period), the grounds are opened for about a week in early to mid-April during the blooming season as a "Path of Blossoms." The focus on late-blooming double cherry blossoms means you can enjoy them even after the peak of the more common Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms has passed.

Cherry trees transplanted from the Mint Bureau in Osaka in 1967 bloomed for the first time two years later, delighting the staff. In 1991, to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the Mint's founding, the site was opened to the public. It has since become a spring tradition cherished by the citizens of Hiroshima.

There is no parking available at the Mint or nearby, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. During the open period, there's a temporary shuttle bus (fee required) from Itsukaichi Station North Exit.
