  • There aren’t a ton of runs, but it’s really friendly for beginners and intermediate skiers. The slopes aren’t overly steep, so it doesn’t feel stressful. It’s usually not as packed as the super popular resorts either, so the whole vibe is more laid-back. If it’s your first time skiing, this is actually a great place to practice—you won’t be startled by experts flying past you 😂

The biggest perk is being able to hit an onsen right after you’re done. When it’s freezing out, soaking after your legs are toast feels amazing, and the fatigue seriously melts away. The surrounding area also has that quiet Japanese mountain feel—great air, and it’s really pretty for photos.

  • One bite and you’ll get why so many people line up. The skin is pan-fried to perfection—the bottom is lightly charred but not hard.
You get that little crunch first, then it’s soft inside. Great texture. The pork filling is juicy (not dry at all), and the seasoning is on point—flavorful without being too salty.
Best eaten hot, and it’s even better with chili sauce.
Affordable, satisfying, and totally something I’d buy again. Works as a meal or a snack.

  • This is a nice spot for families. Kids will probably love all the cute Kumamon figures here.

  • The observation deck on the 29th and 30th floors is totally free, which is awesome! The view is fantastic—you can see the Seto Inland Sea and several islands in the distance. On a clear day, the scenery is super relaxing.

  • You see these all the time at train stations in Japan. The design looks pretty nice, and the screen is touch-operated, which is super intuitive. There are more drink options than regular vending machines, and they often have limited-time or local specialties, so it's always a fun surprise. Some machines even support electronic payment, which is really convenient. Overall, it feels modern and thoughtful 🥰🥰

You can get up close to the cute animals here. It's a pretty friendly zoo, though it's not very big. Try to avoid coming on weekends.

  • The winter illumination event and fireworks are definitely highlights here!

There are traditional food shops here, plus a Fudo Myo-o temple covered in moss.

  • The train car design is super luxurious and impressive. There are skylights on the roof, which make it feel really open. All the seats are genuine leather and can swivel individually. It was such an enjoyable ride.

  • In autumn, the view of the maple leaves on both sides of the ropeway is absolutely stunning!

  • The night view from the top of the mountain is just amazing.

  • In the morning, you can see the hot spring at Kinrin Lake sparkling with golden light.
