It's one of Japan's cultural heritage sites and really special. Definitely worth a visit.

I recommend coming on a weekday so it's not too crowded. After taking photos, you can relax at a nearby café.

When you visit Higashi Chaya District, you have to get a gold leaf ice cream from Hakuichi! I also picked up some edible gold leaf to take home—just sprinkle it on your food and it instantly looks fancy.
