Tado Shrine

Enshrined at the foot of Mt. Tado, which has been worshiped as a sacred mountain since ancient times. In the latter half of the 5th century, the shrine was built in the reign of Emperor Yuryaku.
The main shrine enshrines Amatsu hikone no mikoto, the third prince of Amaterasu Omikami, the deity of Ise Jingu, and the annex enshrines Amenoma hitotsu no mikoto, the grandson.
For this reason, it has a deep relationship with Ise Jingu, and it is sung as "If you visit Ise, you should call it many times, if you do not call it many times, you should visit one side."

It is customary to visit Tado Shrine at the time of Ise Grand Shrine. Both the main shrine and the annex are considered to be the gods that control the weather, and since ancient times people would come here to ask for rain or better weather.

The auxiliary shrine of Utsukushigozensha is painted in bright vermilion. It is said to bring protection for women's illnesses and illnesses such as ears, nose, and mouth, and many people would leave stones that have holes at the shrine. In addition to the main shrine and the auxiliary shrine, 12 auxiliary shrines gather.

In the precincts, "Kinzan-go", a sacred horse which is said to be a messenger of God, welcomes you. A shrine with a living sacred horse is rare in Japan.

It is also known for the "Ageuma-shinji ritual" in which humans and horses run up the cliff, and the "Yabusame" in which an arrow is shot from a running horse.
