Shinei-no-Oka View Park
A hilltop park with breathtaking views in every direction-mountains, flower fields, and glowing sunsets.
One of Biei’s best scenic spots, where rolling hills line up like waves and sweeping views stretch into the distance. Marked by a figure made from stacked hay bales, this park offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Biei’s nature-rich landscape from the hills.
To the east, you can enjoy a very Hokkaido-like landscape made up of the Tokachi Mountain Range—centered on Mt. Tokachi (elevation 6,814 ft)—along with the peaks of the Daisetsuzan Mountains, mosaic-like farmlands, and a photogenic red-roofed house. To the west, it’s also popular as a sunset-viewing spot, where the orange sun glows vividly across the sky.
The park is equipped with a parking lot, restrooms, and a rest area, but it closes during the snowy season, so plan accordingly. Entering nearby farmland, private property, or unpaved roads is prohibited, and drone flights and filming in Biei are also banned. For photos, stay within the park.
