This nature park is in Biei, Hokkaido, known as a town of hills. The surrounding area is called “Patchwork Road” because the different shades of farmland and crops resemble a patchwork pattern, and from the park’s observatory you can enjoy a panoramic view of the hilly landscape. From the pyramid-shaped observation tower, you can also look out over the Tokachidake mountain range and more, and experience Hokkaido’s vast natural scenery.

Various flowers bloom in the park depending on the season, and it’s also appealing that you can take a relaxing stroll through this pastoral landscape. The lavender that blooms in July is especially beautiful, and in summer the park gets busy with many leisure visitors. There is also an information center that provides tourist information about the area, as well as a glass workshop and a shop. Please note that the shop and related facilities are open from May to October and close in winter.

Also, since the area around the park is agricultural land where large farm vehicles come and go, please visit responsibly by not entering fields outside the park or doing anything that could obstruct farm vehicles.
