Senrigawa Embankment
Look up close-planes overhead are an absolute thrill!
Located at the southern end of “Osaka International Airport,” this spot lets you watch planes pass directly overhead just before landing—so close it feels like you could reach out and touch them. Often called a “holy ground for plane spotting,” aviation fans from across Japan come here to capture the perfect shot. In 2019, it received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, one of the world’s largest travel platforms.
The breathtaking landing views are a must, and so are takeoffs. With the runway right in front of you, you can feel the roar of the engines up close—especially when large aircraft take off. From evening into night, when the runway and taxiway lights turn on, the atmosphere changes completely, with a dreamy, beautiful scene illuminated by colorful red, orange, and green lights.
Development is currently underway for the Senrigawa Embankment and the adjacent Harada Ryokuchi Green Space, with the green space aiming to partially open in August 2025 and fully open in March 2027. Keep an eye on this spot as it’s reborn as Toyonaka Tsubasa Park “ma-zika.”
