Last update :
Supervised by :  Kitami Mint Memorial Museum

A facility that preserves the history of Kitami Mint, which once accounted for Approx. 70% of the global mint market. The building is a Western-style structure originally built as an office and more for the former Hokuren Kitami Mint Factory, and is known for its white walls and pale pink exterior. Inside, you’ll find equipment once used at the factory and exhibits related to mint.

On the grounds, there is also the “Mint Distillation House,” created in the image of the mint huts of the time. On open days, a mint distillation demonstration is held daily, letting you experience the fresh scent of newly extracted mint. In front of the museum, the “Herb Garden” is planted with Approx. 70 varieties of herbs, including Japanese mint and Western mint, so you can enjoy the appeal of mint with both sight and smell.

Seasonal events are held, such as herb seed and seedling giveaways in spring, a herb harvest festival in summer, and ice candles in winter.
