Shikisai-no-Oka is a cherished flower park destination seated in the scenic hills of Biei, Hokkaido. From spring to autumn, dozens of flower varieties blossom vividly, blanketing the hillsides with a brocade of hues. Peak season between June and September brings a natural stripe of colors, with blooming lavender, salvia, marigold, and cockscomb lined up as if almost painted in by a brush.
The green season from late April through late October brings the chance to try a popular tractor bus tour along the park. There are even buggies for rent for guests hoping to explore the fields at their leisure.
In winter, the park transforms into a magical snow-covered wonderland, popular for activities such as snow rafting and snowmobiling. Snowmobile tours include a short 1-kilometer loop and a more extensive 10–20 minute course that winds through snowy forests.
Year-round, the on-site Alpaca Farm (additional admission fee required) offers the delightful experience of interacting closely with charming alpacas, including feeding them by hand.
