Last update :

Nagamahama Beach is a vast, untouched stretch of coastline located on the western shore of Kurima Island, which is connected to Miyako Island by bridge. Stretching for about one kilometer, its pristine white sand remains largely undeveloped, making it a hidden gem where you can enjoy the feeling of having a private beach all to yourself.

While some parts of the beach have rocky areas, the northern section features fine, powdery white sand and crystal-clear blue waters. Its natural beauty has made it a popular filming location for movies and TV dramas. As it’s not a designated swimming beach and box jellyfish warnings are issued during summer, swimming is not recommended. Instead, it’s best enjoyed as a peaceful spot to relax and take in the scenery.

Facing west, the entire beach is also famous for its spectacular sunsets. On clear days, the sunset views are breathtaking, so bringing a flashlight for your return is recommended if you plan to stay until dusk.

The water is crystal clear and the sand is super fine and white. There aren't too many people, so walking along the beach feels really relaxing. When the weather's nice, the colors are just dreamy—perfect for taking beautiful photos or just sitting quietly and watching the ocean. The vibe is super chill~
