Shirakaba Resort Ikenotaira Family Land
A highland resort where you can enjoy an amusement park, museums, and a zoo.
A nature-rich forest amusement park surrounded by the woods and lake of Lake Shirakaba. In addition to an area where you can enjoy ride attractions like go-karts that speed along a 1.3 km long course and coasters, there’s also a zoo where you can meet meerkats and sand cats, horseback riding experiences, athletic courses, and more—so you can enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest. It also has the Shadow Picture Art Museum and the Teddy Bear Museum, with so many attractions and facilities you can’t possibly do it all in a single day.
There are also lake activities where you can cycle on top of Lake Shirakaba, plus a garden area where seasonal flowers bloom and you can ride the scenic lift. You’ll also find an indoor athletic course and an indoor heated pool, so you can have fun without worrying about the weather. At 4,757 feet elevation, the highland breeze stays cool even in summer, which is another great plus.
Ticket options include the basic admission ticket, as well as a Free Pass that includes admission and attraction rides, plus a wide variety of combinations like zoo sets and museum sets. Another recommendation is to stay at “Shirakaba Resort Ikenotaira Hotel” on the grounds and go all out with a 2-day Free Pass. Note that the park closes during winter.
