  • You can take the park's special boat to check in at the hotel. It's a high-end European-style hotel.

  • The museum displays many historical paintings and folding screens related to Byodoin. These artifacts showcase the area's rich history and make it well worth a visit.

  • You can enjoy beautiful ocean views here and learn about the local maritime history.

  • The lively street scene from the Edo period is recreated here. There are tons of shops selling all kinds of local snacks and souvenirs.

  • If you have time and enough energy, you can hike the mountain trail behind the main shrine. It takes about 2–3 hours round trip to reach the top.

  • It really feels like you're in the Netherlands or Europe here. The night view is beautiful, with amazing lights and a great atmosphere.

  • When I visited, the snow wall was 16 meters high. You definitely can't see scenery like this in Taiwan.

  • Try to avoid going during Japanese holidays, or you'll be stuck in super long lines. It's best to get a VIP wristband to save a lot of time.

  • There are thousands of cherry blossom trees here, including Somei Yoshino and weeping cherry varieties. The scenery during cherry blossom season is just lovely.

  • It's really close to Sendai Station, with lots of shops and a great place to stroll around.

  • This is the final resting place of Date Masamune. It's definitely worth taking your time to appreciate everything here.
