Hasami Ceramic Park

An outdoor exhibition showcasing 12 unique kilns from around the world.

Last update :

Located in Hasami, a town famous for its distinctive ceramics characterized by translucent whites and indigo blues, Hasami Ceramic Park features an outdoor exhibition of ceramic kilns from around the globe. The collection includes 12 life-sized kiln replicas, ranging from traditional Japanese climbing kilns (noborigama) to Turkey's Kütahya kiln and England's iconic bottle oven. These unusual and impressive structures offer great photo opportunities rarely found elsewhere.

Within the park, you'll also find the Hasami Town Ceramic Hall. Its second-floor museum presents historical exhibits detailing the development of Hasami ceramics, the techniques of skilled local artisans, and contemporary ceramic artworks, showcasing the charm of Hasami’s regional craftsmanship. Visitors can also join workshops to try painting and pottery wheel experiences, creating original souvenirs to take home. Additionally, the ground floor hosts the Kurawankan shop, offering products from 35 local potteries and trading companies.

Every year from April 29th to May 5th, the park hosts the Hasami Ceramic Festival, where visitors can purchase Hasami ceramics at affordable prices and engage directly with local artisans and sellers.
