Abukuma Cave

The drops of water and the beauty of the formations created by the passage of time are impressive!

Last update :

The caves are characterized by the variety and number of stalactites that line the 600-meter length of the cave. There are many attractions in the caves, including the fantastic "Moon World," the first cave in Japan to have a dimming system for stage production, and the 13-meter-high "Ryuuguuden," a hall with a collection of unique stalactites. The 29-meter-high "Takine Goten," the largest hall in Abukuma-do, allows visitors to get up close and personal with crystal curtains, cave corals, and other precious stalactites that can only be seen here.

The "Exploration Course," which splits off from the approximately 30-minute general course, is an optional course that gives visitors a more adventurous feeling. Visitors can enjoy crossing log ladders and stepping stones, crouching down in narrow places, and other activities that make them feel like adventurers.

The store sells original products such as red wine stored in the cave and natural water coffee, as well as local specialties from Tamura City. There is also a restaurant where visitors can enjoy "wine salt ramen" and "blessed eel bowl set" (limited quantity).
