Kawamachi Terrace Yuriage

A Yuriage landmark lined with a variety of shops.

Last update :

A popular sightseeing spot in Yuriage that stretches along the sun-sparkling Natori River. Opened in 2019 by local businesses and supporters with the goal of rebuilding the Yuriage area, which suffered major damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In the row of buildings lined up like a traditional nagaya, you’ll find a food court, sweet shops, and direct-sales markets for local farm and seafood products, bringing together a wide variety of stores. Along with restaurants where you can enjoy local specialties made with akagai (ark shell) and shirasu (whitebait), both known as Natori City specialties, there are plenty of dining options, from lavish seafood rice bowls piled with fresh seafood to carefully crafted ramen. Another highlight is relaxing at a scenic cafe or in the plaza while enjoying the refreshing riverside breeze.

With popular marine activities like SUP, a cruise boat around the Natori River, and a kids’ adventure playground, active travelers are sure to be satisfied. You can also enjoy a hands-on grilled kamaboko experience, plus a great selection of souvenirs, including Natori City’s mountain and sea specialties and sweets.
