Kitakami Tourist Products Center Access

Run by the Kitakami Tourism Association, which actively promotes Iwate’s tourism resources and plays a major role in energizing the local economy. It reopened after renovations in 2023 on the 1st floor of the Sakura PORT Hotel at Kitakami Station’s East Exit, and is now a popular souvenir shop known for drawing one of the biggest crowds near the station.

The sales floor carries a wide variety of items, including sake and traditional and folk crafts. In particular, the standout selection is its lineup of beloved local sweets that residents have adored for years, including Kagiya Kashihō’s “Kitakami Yakyoku,” Eiseidō’s “Gorō ga Bikkuri Yaki,” and Shibata Seika’s “Tezukuri Karintō.”

They also started carrying the hugely popular “Troika Cheesecake,” a favorite furusato nozei gift, after the renewal—and this is the only place you can buy it near the station! They also carry “UTO Tenshi no Muffler,” a high-quality item that’s popular overseas; since UTO has a factory in Kitakami, this shop is the only place authorized to sell it, and you can buy it only here and at the Tokyo Aoyama store.
