Mushitec World Fukushima Forest Science Experience Center
A hands-on science museum where you can learn about nature and everyday science through experiential workshops such as crafts and experiments.
A hands-on science museum with a wide variety of programs that visitors of all ages can enjoy while learning about insect-focused nature and science related to everyday life.
At “Nazedaro Land,” an exhibition area welcomed by giant insect models, you can deepen your understanding of insect ecology such as flight and predation through various displays, and also enjoy quizzes about insects.
Also fun is a flight simulator (paid) that lets you experience flying through the skies of Fukushima with realistic footage, and can be used by up to four people at the same time.
On weekends, national holidays, and during long school breaks, the center hosts many programs such as crafts and experiments. Nature experience workshops, such as observing living creatures in the outdoor biotope and the fields around the facility, are also popular. In addition, the center holds science shows that spark interest in everyday science through engaging talk. Some programs require reservations while others are open to join freely, so be sure to check the website before your visit.
