Hakusan Dinosaur Park Shiramine
Try fossil digging, touch real skeleton specimens, and trace the history of dinosaurs.
Step through the gate and you’re met by an impressive T. rex object.
Inside the round, egg-shaped “Dinosaur Museum,” you’ll find displays including a Diplodocus skeleton measuring over 20 meters long and dinosaur-era dioramas, along with fossils of dinosaurs and plants discovered in Hakusan City, where the park is located.
One of the most popular activities is the fossil-hunting experience, which requires no reservation and is easy for visitors of all ages to join. Pick up rentals like a hammer, goggles, and work gloves, then crack open rocks like a paleontologist—you may just uncover a treasure. In the past, a participant even found a fossilized tooth of Oarashiryu from Approx. 130 million years ago, so you might just make a world-class discovery!
Outdoors, you’ll find kid-friendly playground equipment as well as the large “Dyna Slider,” a big slide that lets you zip down a rail of Approx. 40 meters in one go. There’s also a spacious grassy lawn area, perfect for a picnic.
