Kalmia
A convenient station building with a great selection of Toyohashi souvenirs.
A commercial building directly connected to Toyohashi Station, where the Tokaido Shinkansen also stops. Across five floors—four above ground and one basement—you’ll find a wide range of shops, including fashion, lifestyle goods, food, dining, and souvenir stores. There are also restaurants and food and specialty-grocery shops inside the conventional rail ticket gates at Toyohashi Station, making it very convenient for transfers or meeting up while waiting for a train.
On the second floor, where the ticket gates are, there’s a gift market. It’s on the south side across the corridor from the food market. You’ll find a full lineup of classic souvenirs, including Toyohashi specialties like “Black Thunder” and “Pyrène,” plus local favorite “Yamasa Chikuwa,” so be sure to stop by before going through the gates. The first-floor restaurant area is also lined with popular spots, including a direct-run “Yamasa Chikuwa” shop. The must-try local specialty “Toyohashi curry udon” is also not to be missed.
Inside the ticket gates, there’s a dining area with a ramen shop, a rice ball specialty store, and a cafe & bar. It’s surprisingly spacious for being inside the gates, and very comfortable.
