Carved into the southern part of Ishigaki Island in the Yaeyama Islands, the Ishigaki Island Limestone Cave is the southernmost tourist-accessible limestone cave in Japan. Formed over 200,000 years, this natural masterpiece spans 3.2 km, making it the largest cave on Ishigaki Island.

The 660-meter public course features famed stops like the "Forest of Divine Sculptures”, with countless stalagmites towering in a vast hall, the popular "Totoro Stalactite" resembling the beloved character, and "never-falling rock (Exam Stone)”, a delicately balanced formation perched on a cliff edge. Illuminations within the cave enhance its palace-like underground world, adding to the cave's mysterious allure.

Catch a glimpse of giant clams fossils and other sea life once inside the cave, hinting at its past as a seafloor. The vast undergound space sprawls and speckles with formations from coral reefs, inviting guests as if into a realm of fantasy. The grounds also include a restaurant offering Okinawan home-style dishes and a shop featuring Ishigaki Island’s specialty products.
