Fukuyama Auto & Clock Museum

The Fukuyama Auto & Clock Museum showcases a remarkable collection of classic cars from Japan and around the world, as well as antique clocks. Dedicated to hands-on exhibits, the museum encourages visitors not only to look but also to take photos freely, and in most cases, even sit inside the vehicles, offering a rare and memorable experience unlike typical museums.

The highlight is its impressive lineup of classic automobiles. The collection includes passenger cars built before World War II such as the Ford Model T and the Datsun Sedan, three-wheeled trucks nicknamed “Batanko,” and motorcycles with sidecars, displayed both indoors and outdoors. One of the museum’s unique treasures is a bonnet-style bus with the engine located in front of the driver’s seat, which is kept in working condition. During Golden Week and the Obon holidays, visitors can enjoy free rides on this historic bus.

The antique clock collection is equally fascinating, featuring Edo-period turret clocks, intricately crafted pillow clocks, and mechanical French clocks from the late 1800s. Additional displays include wax figures, wooden horses, and even a light aircraft, making the museum a captivating destination for all ages.
