Kourantei Shimotori Main Store

Located in Shimotori, one of Kumamoto City’s main shopping arcades, “Kourantei Shimotori Main Store” is a long-established Chinese restaurant founded in 1934. Loved not only by locals but also by tourists, it’s a popular spot—and Kumamoto’s specialty “Taipien” is a must-try.

A cloudy soup made with chicken and pork bones is paired with 100% mung bean glass noodles, plus plenty of seafood and vegetables.
