Kirishima Shinwa no Sato Park

Located at an elevation of 680 meters within Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park, this expansive park offers panoramic views of Kinko Bay, Sakurajima, and even Mt. Kaimon on clear days-making it one of the region’s top scenic spots.

The large grounds are filled with fun attractions, including an 18-hole putting golf course, a ground golf area with a 70-meter-diameter natural grass field, and a fancy slider where you can glide down a 40-meter slope on a sled. Take the scenic lift to the summit for the park’s highlight: the Super Slider, a thrilling 390-meter downhill ride where you control your speed with a hand brake.

The park also features an on-site roadside station (michi-no-eki). Its restaurant serves up local specialties such as Kirishima Kurobuta pork dishes, as well as tasty bites like homemade satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), all enjoyed with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and bay. The market and specialty shop offer a variety of local products, including blueberry juice and jam made from fruit grown at the park’s own orchard.

From early July to early August, visitors can also enjoy blueberry picking at the park’s seasonal orchard-an ideal summer activity for families and food lovers alike.
