Opened in March 2025, Hyper Museum Hanno is a fresh and innovative museum located in Hanno, Saitama Prefecture, within the grounds of "Metsä," a complex housing both the Nordic lifestyle area "Metsä Village" and the Moomin-themed amusement park "Moominvalley Park."

Unlike conventional museums where artwork is simply displayed on walls, Hyper Museum Hanno distinguishes itself through its curated selection of artists and its unconventional exhibition methods. It showcases prominent contemporary artists, rising stars, and emerging talents through outdoor installations harmonizing with surrounding nature and immersive exhibitions using advanced digital technology, thus offering visitors entirely new artistic experiences.

Running until August 31, 2025, the opening special exhibition is "Space Cat’s Secret Island" by Kenji Yanobe. This exhibition provides an overview of Yanobe’s approximately 35-year career through sculptures, original sketches, videos, and more. The highlight is "Space Cat’s Island," floating on Lake Miyazawa. Visitors can approach the island by rental boat, and on weekends, holidays, and select weekdays, guided exploration tours allow guests to land on the island. Once there, visitors can fully explore and appreciate the giant Space Cat, complete with an interior featuring unique spaces such as a bathtub and an atelier.
