Chopsticks Shimokitazawa

Located in Mikan Shimokita, a multi-use complex beneath the elevated tracks at Shimokitazawa Station, this Vietnamese street food restaurant is a popular spot for affordable and delicious dishes. The owner traveled across Vietnam, tasting everything from regional specialties to home-style cooking. The signature dish is fresh pho noodles made with Japanese rice, and the restaurant is also known as Japan’s first to serve fresh rice noodle pho.

At lunch, set meals centered on fresh pho noodles are especially popular, with your choice of pho served together with Vietnamese chicken rice, fresh spring rolls, and more. There is a wide variety of pho, including classics like steamed chicken, as well as beef tendon, pork with chili sauce, and braised pork belly. At night, you can enjoy street food, à la carte dishes, fried items, and banh mi made with house-made bread, along with local beers from across Vietnam and Vietnamese shochu.

You can also easily pick up banh mi from the takeout counter, making it a great companion for a stroll around Shimokitazawa. The restaurant has 28 seats in total, including counter seating, making it easy to visit whether you are dining alone or in a group.
