  • Such a cute and fun place. You can watch how masu sushi is made, and you can even make your own—super unique!
They also have displays on the history of the sushi and some traditional tools. It’s small, but there’s a lot to see.
Best part: you get to sample authentic masu sushi. So fresh! Definitely worth a quick stop if you’re nearby.

  • The place has an old traditional Japanese house vibe, with a classic irori hearth in the middle. You can grill fish and skewers yourself, and enjoy that nostalgic, old-school feel while you eat.

Everything tasted really fresh—especially the grilled ayu (sweetfish), which was insanely fragrant. The overall atmosphere is warm and unique. Perfect if you want to experience a traditional Japanese way of dining.

  • The Mimasaka Three Hot Springs—Yunogo, Yubara, and Okutsu—each have their own charm. The natural scenery is stunning, and soaking in the hot springs is so relaxing. It's a great spot for a healing little trip!

  • There are tons of interactive exhibits inside, like spaceship simulators and astronomy displays. It's great for both adults and kids to explore the mysteries of the universe together. Super fun and educational! 👍

There are lots of restaurants and shops here, and the menus have plenty of options. The free observation deck on the 7th floor offers a great view, too.

Most of the items are household goods, and it's a great place to browse. The products are beautifully designed, and the style is pretty similar to MUJI.

  • Before visiting the main hall, the temple staff serve matcha and Japanese sweets. You can only enter after enjoying them. The Monju Bosatsu statue is a national treasure, so no photos are allowed.

  • Mt. Yoshino isn’t just about cherry blossoms. You can also come here in the fall to see the beautiful autumn leaves.

  • Sometimes you can see smoke coming out of the volcano's crater—it's really impressive.

Take the cable car up and enjoy the view from the observation deck—the scenery is absolutely stunning! No wonder it's one of Japan's top three scenic spots.
