We would like to introduce you is Chidorigafuchi where is located in Chiyoda-ku of Tokyo.

It takes 5 minutes on foot from “Kudanshita Station” by Tokyo Metro Tozai Line • Hanzōmon Line • Toei Shinjuku Line. If this is your first time to viewing cherry blossoms in Japan, here is the most recommended viewing spot (personal opinion).

“Chidorigafuchi” is located in between the Imperial Palace and British Embassy, and has approximately 260 cherry trees including Someiyoshino and Yamasakura.

Visitors are just simply following the crowd after get off from “Kudanshita Station” during blooming period, large amount of visitors will lead you to Chidorigafuchi. The photos show below is “Tayasu-mon Gate” just before entering to the Nippon Budokan, and you will able to see a lot of beautiful cherry blossoms from the gate.

First of all, let us start from Nippon Budokan and Kitanomaru Park!

Walk pass through the parking area of Nippon Budokan is Chidorigafuchi Walkway. If visitors want to see further scenery from this spot might feel a little difficult due to fully bloomed cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms scenery is absolutely amazing and fabulous.

The walkway from Nippon Budokan to Chidorigafuchi is packed with people during the timing of its full bloom. It is easy to image how beautiful is this place in order to attract so many visitors during the season.

Cherry trees variety are illuminated at dusk, and boating arena is also available in Chidorigafuchi. You might see a long queue here waiting for boat riding, and based on our experience it might takes 2 hours in the queue. If you are still seeking to enjoy the boat riding, please don't forget to reserve some spare time of your schedule.

Chidorigafuchi has a lot of torists and visitors, you might see “Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery” if you walk further at the walkway where are able to see Central Circular Route. The place is certainly beautiful and might distract drivers' attention, so they need to be extra careful while driving through this area.

The boat pier and cherry blossoms of Chidorigafuchi is particular inspiring and attractive, therefore here is definitely the most recommended spot. Based on personal experience, the best timing visiting Chidorigafuchi is after 15:00 until sunset. We are planning to viewing the cherry blossoms at night this Spring, the special illumination will indeed gorgeous and splendid for sure.
