In Japan, increasingly convenient services and enjoyable tourist locations are appearing one after another. As part of this trend, the large Japanese travel company H.I.S. established the Osaka Tourist Information Center, serving overseas visitors to Japan, in Osaka in April. It is on the eighth floor of Shinsaibashi OPA, a shopping center in Shinsaibashi, central Osaka.

The expansive center has such a variety of services it is no exaggeration to say, "When you have a problem while sightseeing, you can solve it at Osaka Tourist Information Center!" Among the services provided are pamphlets and maps of major tourist attractions; reservations (including same-day) at hotels, ryokan and restaurants; foreign currency exchange (U.S. dollars, the euro, the Chinese yuan, the South Korean won, the Hong Kong dollar and the Taiwan dollar); rail and bus ticket sales; SIM card sales; foreign remittances (for those 18 years of age or older with an official photo ID); luggage storage (for a fee); and free Wi-Fi and printer use.

The center also has eight tenants including a household electronics shop and a drug store, so visitors can shop there as well!

Staff members can speak English, Chinese, Korean and Thai. When a facility is this convenient, you must take advantage of it. If you are taking a trip to Osaka, by all means stop by.
