During foreign trips, it's common to run out of the local currency, even though you bought some at the beginning. In Japan, airports, post offices and banks exchange foreign currency. For example, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, a representative bank of Japan, is one of the banks that put resources into foreign currency exchange.

It has branches with foreign exchange counters near stations that are used to get to popular tourist destinations in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Teller windows at Japanese banks usually close at 3 p.m. on weekdays, but the foreign exchange counters at Sumitomo Mitsui banks are open until between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. They are also open on weekends in some locations. If you remember this, it will definitely come in handy.

And now the bank is giving gifts to the readers of Good Luck Trip. Between Jan. 12 and March 11, 2016, the bank will give a Japanese-style hand towel to anyone who changes 10,000 yen worth of currency or more (in either direction) at one of its foreign exchange counters in the Tokyo metropolitan area (details below).

To receive the gift, you have to show the image below on this page to a member of the bank staff. In the app version of Good Luck Trip, people looking at this page can easily bookmark it by tapping the button to the right of the headline! By sliding from the left, you can display a list of your bookmarked articles and display them offline.
