The39th Sapporo White Illumination
The 39th annual “Sapporo White Illumination” will be held. This event has gained its popularity as “Sapporo tradition” in early winter.
The event started in 1981 with 1,000 lights illuminating Nishi 2-chome area in Odori Park. Since then, the event has been expanding its size and quality to be one of the most leading affairs in the whole country.
There will be a symbolic artistic centerpiece placed in Odori koen site. In addition, trees going every direction; North to South around Sapporo Ekimae site and East to West around Minami 1-jo dori site will be gorgeously illuminated during the festival. Strongly recommended “Art of lights” event, created in Sapporo.
