Mt.Tanigawa (Tanigawadake)

Two and a half hours to the top of Mt.Tanigawa! A mountain with magnificent nature listed as one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan

Last update :

Mt.Tanigawa (Tanigawadake) is a mountain with an altitude of 1,977 meters and attracts tourists with its sharp and beautiful appearance. It is a popular place for trekking and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

If you take the ropeway, you can get to the Tenjin Pass in about 15 minutes while enjoying a beautiful walk in the air. A 360-degree panorama and colorful alpine plants will welcome you. There is also an observatory where you can overlook the surrounding mountains and a hiking course that takes about two and a half hours to reach the summit of Mt. Tanigawa. Why not forget about the world below for a while and enjoy a "paradise in the sky"?

Another must-see viewpoint "Ichinokurasawa," a large rock wall on the eastern slope of the mountain. If you take the "Ichinokurasawa Rock Wall Trekking Course" around the base of the mountain, you can see the enormous rock wall right before your eyes and admire its powerful appearance. One of the things that attract climbers is the different beautiful colors that appear on the wall depending on the season.

From early summer to autumn, a special nighttime event called "Night Cruising into the Sky" is held to enjoy the starry sky while riding on the ropeway. The unique program using a "digital hanging scroll" is also a big hit every year. The scroll projects geometric patterns on the surrounding area so you can have an exceptional experience of the starry sky.
