A Day of Fishing, BBQing and Leisure on the Sea while Floating on a Pearl Farming Raft.
The Uchinoumi seawaters are located in the northeast area of Naruto in Tokushima Prefecture. Hugged between Shimada and Oge Islands, the calm waters were once a popular locale for pearl farmers. Today, these rafting rigs can be used as a special place to enjoy fishing and BBQing above the sea.
This excursion starts by meeting at AoAwo Naruto Resort. You’ll start with an overview of the rig safety points from your instructor before heading there by boat. The hotel offers shuttle service both ways so you can get there and back with as little baggage as possible. Along the way you’ll learn about what you might be able to fish during that season, the tides and more. Feel free to ask any questions at this point!
Once you’ve arrived at your destination it’s time to start fishing. You’ll have access to a “sabiki” bait road, which easy enough for even the most novice of users to set and use. From April on you’ll find black sea bream, snapper and sea bass. From July you can find horse mackerel and Japanese halfbeak, while in September the local yellowtail come into season.
After fishing it’s time to BBQ! All the tools you’ll need to do, as long with meat, veggies, riceballs and other goodies are included in the bbq set. We highly recommend prepping and grilling your fresh-cut fish right there on the rig.
