The hot spring inn, Aomoriya, is like Aomori theme park which immerses you in festivals, local cuisine, therapeutic hot spring, and Aomori’s culture. On the premises, there is a nature park dotted with a pond and traditional Japanese homes.

The 236 guest rooms in 3 wings are modern Japanese spaces which make you feel like you are relaxing at your grandma’s home. Some rooms have Aomori’s special Nebuta decorations in the living room and bedroom. A variety of restaurants add pleasure to your trip, such as Noresore Shokudo serving local specialty buffet or Nambu Magariya in a traditional Japanese home with the Kaiseki cuisine of generous seafood.

Ukiyu is an outdoor hot spring jutting out into a big pond surrounded by nature with seasonal beauty. The hot spring is always flowing out. There are three other hot springs - an indoor bath with the scent of cypress, a scenic foot bath, and quaint Motoyu. Enjoy soaking in four hot springs.

At the theater, Michinoku Matsuriya, the energetic live show similar to Aomori’s festival is held every evening. There is a tour in a horse-drawn coach, as well as summer activities at the park such as fishing at a pond and hands-on traditional crafts.     Aomoriya is a place that packs Aomori culture into one resort.
    The ponies greeting guests and the warm, peaceful tatami rooms made a great impression. At night, “Michinoku Matsuriya” recreates the lively atmosphere of the Aomori Nebuta Festival.
    The kids loved the apple juice tap and kept going back for cup after cup.
    The buffet dinner was incredibly abundant and full of Aomori特色: sweet, fresh shrimp, thick raw scallops, and freshly grilled miso giant scallops... everything was delicious.

    The hallways at Aomoriya are filled with goldfish lanterns. At night there’s also a paid festival show, and you can join in—it’s super lively and so much fun!
    The food was also really delicious.
    Walking around the property is easy and relaxing. Especially soaking in the foot bath while looking out at the lake—what a treat for both body and mind. It’s truly a different kind of experience.
