Located on the 3rd floor of the Sakurajima Ferry Terminal, MINATO Café was opened through a crowdfunding project under the concept “A place at the port, created together by everyone - MINATO Café.”
From the counter seats along the wide windows, guests can enjoy a sweeping view of Kinko Bay and the ferries coming and going from the port. The menu features unique and photogenic items inspired by Sakurajima, such as Volcanic Ash Soft Serve Ice Cream and Sakurajima Curry. Local ingredients are used wherever possible, including camellia oil, a specialty of Sakurajima.
Inside the café, a small store area offers local souvenirs from Sakurajima. It’s the perfect stop for a relaxing break before exploring the island or while waiting for the ferry.
