Sola Land Hiraodai (Hiraodai Countryside Park)

A wonderland of majestic, picture-perfect landscapes awaits in the karst plateau!

Last update :

Visit this special spot for natural, green-earth experiences here in Hiraodai, one of Japan’s largest limestone fields. In addition to lookout points and doline decks with grand, wide open views to love, there’s even a playplace called Yu-Yu Playground equipped with slides and tunnels and a sprawling pasture the size of a baseball field at Nobinobi Square just waiting for you to come and kick back for a while. Set with magnificent, larger-than-life nature at your back, don’t forget to snap a photo before you go.

For easy bites and shopping, head over to Hiraodai Terrace, a café set inside a trailer house that even sells local wares like pottery and handicrafts. There’s a kiln at the pottery studio or workshop where you can make your own soba noodles, plus seasonal events like the Hiraodai Tourism Festival where they set the fields on fire. Campers will be happy to know there’s even RV parking and campgrounds if you plan to stay.

The breathtaking Hiraodai karst plateau is known for its sheer magnitude, said to have over 200 limestone caves, including the Senbutsu Limestone Cave, making it a hotspot for spelunking and cave exploring.
