Natsuse Onsen Miyakowasure
A hot spring inn where every guest room features a private open-air bath with carefully selected free-flowing natural spring water.
Nestled in the scenic Dakigaeri Valley, one of Akita’s most beautiful valleys, this serene hot spring inn stands amid the secluded hidden spring of Natsuse Onsen, long cherished as a лечеб bath since the Edo period. Surrounded by nothing but untouched nature, with no nearby houses or other inns, its profound tranquility is one of its greatest charms.
All ten guest rooms feature private open-air baths, allowing guests to enjoy the free-flowing natural hot spring water in complete privacy and comfort. Soaking while gazing out over the breathtaking gorge is an unforgettable experience. In addition to the in-room baths, the inn also offers gender-segregated indoor baths called “Tōgen no Yu” and a mixed-gender open-air bath, perfect for those wishing to enjoy a different atmosphere.
Meals showcase the best of local ingredients, including Akita-grown Japanese Black wagyu beef, Hinai chicken, and seasonal seafood, mountain delicacies, and vegetables. Traditional regional specialties such as Inaniwa udon and kiritanpo are also served. Upon request, vegetarian and macrobiotic meals can be prepared as well.
In winter, heavy snowfall means the inn can only be accessed via a shuttle bus, adding to the sense of exclusivity and further enhancing the romance of the journey.
