Aomori Winery Hotel

A well-located hotel standing on the mountainside of Mt. Ajara (Ajarayama), which spans Owani Town and Hirakawa City in Aomori Prefecture. Along with night views over the Tsugaru Plain and a sky filled with stars, depending on weather conditions you can also see a sea of clouds spread out in the early morning, offering a magical view.

In the hotel basement is a second plant of Sun Mamoru Winery, which makes wines that “go well with meals.” They produce wines using Steuben grapes from the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture and apples grown in Aomori. You can tour the facility through glass, and you can also enjoy tastings at “Wine lounge 709” in front of the hotel lobby.

To bring out the best in the wine, pairing it with a meal is recommended. At the main dining room “La Taverle,” you can savor the rich gifts of nature—including Shimokita beef raised in Aomori’s Shimokita, large turban shells from Aomori, Oma tuna, and seasonal local vegetables—together with by-the-glass wines carefully selected by the in-house sommelier. Enjoy an elegant moment with a glass of wine while taking in views of the Tsugaru Plain.
