Totoyama

Step out in front of Toyama Station and you’ll find this antenna shop on the first floor of a nearby commercial building, with one of the largest sales floors in Toyama Prefecture. The shelves are packed with at least Approx. 1,800 items, mainly chosen from Toyama’s local specialties.

The food selection is especially popular. Processed seafood products made with Toyama-brand catches—such as white shrimp, blackthroat seaperch, firefly squid, and “kitokito”—bring out local flavors you can only find here.

There’s also a wide-ranging selection of local sake brewed with high-quality spring water from the Tateyama Mountain Range. Along with ginjo sake delivered from renowned breweries, you’ll find junmai and honjozo, and even freshly brewed new sake depending on the season—an extensive lineup that makes choosing a challenge.

You’ll also find items from the “Ecchu Toyama Sachi no Kowake” series, which packages Toyama’s many flavors in easy-to-finish portions, plus a full range of classic folk crafts and traditional handicrafts.

The shop also hosts monthly events, selling bento boxes and sweets from well-known local businesses, and sometimes even offering local bagged bread. It’s one more reason shopping here stays fun, even if you stop by often.
