Motoyu Yuzankaku is a traditional hot-spring ryokan located in the renowned Oga Onsen area of Akita Prefecture. Boasting an abundant private hot spring source flowing at an impressive 200 liters per minute, the ryokan offers authentic "kakenagashi" natural hot springs, uniquely pouring from the mouth of a striking Namahage statue. Guests can relax in spacious indoor baths and atmospheric open-air baths, enjoying the distinctively smooth feel of the mineral-rich water, famous for its abundant floating minerals ("yunohana"). The hot spring water changes hues—from amber-brown to emerald-green—depending on the season and weather.

The rooms are spacious and elegantly designed in traditional Japanese style, creating a serene atmosphere. As the inn occupies the highest point in the onsen district, guests can enjoy spectacular panoramic views from their windows. Special concept rooms with modern-Japanese décor inspired by the Namahage theme are particularly popular.

Dinner features creatively prepared dishes using seasonal ingredients, crafted by experienced chefs blending traditional culinary methods with innovative touches. Guests can enhance their meals with additional local specialties like Akita’s famous "Kiritanpo Nabe" (rice-stick hotpot), "Shottsuru Nabe" (fish-sauce hotpot), or fresh Oga snow crab.
Please note the inn does not have an elevator, with stairs used for access between floors. Additionally, the ryokan does not accommodate preschool-aged children, so plan accordingly when making reservations.
